“The power of convergence comes from distance. Your characters need to start as far apart as possible—geographically, emotionally, thematically.Every great ensemble operates within a “Gravity Well”—an inescapable force pulling every character into its orbit. Before you write, know your central question. Then make sure every character approaches it from a different angle. Convergence delivers the answer.”All of the above, game me the written clarity I needed to approach ensemble screenplays. Thank you.

Great information about writing ensemble scripts, David. My first script was an ensemble piece, and I love the format. Some of my favorite ensembles of all time are: Grand Canyon, The Breakfast Club, The Godfather, St. Elmo’s Fire, Peter’s Friends, and Gosford Park.
