  • Oh yes. I have there before in the foxholes of adapting a book into a stage play. It can be an intricate balance beam of fulfilling the production’s needs and what the publishing company wants to happen — not to mention the actual author of the book. And I have been in situations where the client had a lot of money but did not understand the legal logistics of the industry. And, of course, you get the client that wants you to work for free.
