Hailing from Charlotte, NC, I grew up with five siblings including three older brothers who introduced me to independent, foreign film. During my senior year of high school, I decided to pursue a career as a writer/director. As an emerging artist, my motive is to form a new type of dramatic neo-realism in genre film that already exists in music under the guise of Hip Hop. Rock & Roll/Jazz/Hip Hop are flipsides of the same coin, their roots lie in the fabric of spontaneous African art. These traditions inspire my innovative ideas for cinema. Hip hop has provided a platform for writers to recite poetic stories about their perceptive realities, and I strive to do this with my scripts.
