Great tips. I believe another term I recognize this technique as was “set ups and pay offs” . The idea of things coming full circle, and bringing closure to an idea of iconography really serves to be satisfying.
*what the story analysts
I really enjoyed this! It confirms the things said in this screenwriting book I’m reading. It talks about theme and how important it is that the character must reject, embrace, and sacrifice the same exact thing and that’s what story analyst are looking for.
That was a perfect way to put it: emotional manipulation business. I’m definitely will be keeping that saying in mind from now on.
I love love love the part about creating an emotional map and charting it out scene by scene. I’m going to do that and it will help to see something drawn out in that sense. Thanks again!
