It’s an incredible challenge; I am so sorry I missed this. The above pitches are interesting.
Be their Saver
It’s been 18 years since the grand opening of the Louisiana-inspired Snoballs located off of Slauson Avenue in Windsor Hills, California. A local sweet shop specializing in shaved ice and funnel cakes has captured the hearts of thousands of South L.A. denizens. Fast forward to the summer of 2024, post-covid; many have died, relocated, or have lost their income and/or homestead.
Fed rates have continued to increase causing inflation on top of the post-covid recession. This influx of hardships has created a clash between the working and middle class. Most are restless, hopeless with no attainable resources, and are resorting to a life of crime.
Discount stores like Target, for example, now have locked cabinets for the majority of their products. Executives are fearing the worst and choose to keep everything locked due to petty thieves resorting to physical violence once they are caught by employees or security guards.
Things aren’t any better in South L.A., Windsor Hills. What was once a thriving city of predominately black-small businesses is now a cause for concern. After the break-in and theft of costly merchandise at the Snoballs shop; the owners have decided to permanently close its brick and mortar on the last day of summer.
Unaware of the events that have taken place, the local town hobo Peter Saver becomes outraged when he discovers that Snoballs is closing. Where will he get his weekly dessert now? Once he receives word that Snoballs is closing he tells other shop owners not to close so that he can continue to reap the benefits.
Due to the constant break-ins many are unsure what their next move will be. So Peter takes it upon himself and rallies up all of the local hobos, bums, and functional drug addicts to create an underground neighborhood watch. To protect and serve the Windsor Hills area so that Peter can continue to get things for free.

Title: DING-DING
PITCH 1 (This is an actual pitch of the news article with a twist):
An aging boxer, once a world champion, comes out of retirement for a young loudmouth social media influencer turned fighter who disrespects the boxer’s legacy and taunts him into one last fight. However, he must hide his life-threatening heart condition to survive the bout and prove he still has what it takes.
PITCH 2 (This is my elevated pitch of the news article with a twist):
A young loudmouth social media influencer turned fighter challenges his estranged father, once a world heavyweight champion, to a publicized fight. The father agrees as a way to reconnect with his son but hides his life-threatening heart condition to qualify for the bout.
